AC Milan have identified another defensive target that they will attempt to sign if a deal for Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly cannot be done in January, a report claims.
As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri are looking closely at Genoa-owned defender Alessandro Marcandalli, who is currently on loan in Serie B.
The 2002-born defender is performing very well for Reggiana, who are coached by former Milan defender Alessandro Nesta.
The move would be slightly surprising in the sense that Milan want a player who can certainly make an immediate impact, given the injuries to Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino.
It may be the case that were the Italian-Nigerian to join in January, he would not be the only central defender to arrive.
Kelly is the favoured player but Bournemouth are very unlikely to sanction a sale in January, preferring to keep him until the end of the season.
