Jets' Breece Hall not a big New York City fan and it can elevate his game
USA TODAY Sports

When it comes to being a Jet, Breece Hall is loving life. When it comes to spending time in New York City? That is a different story.

Breece Hall was born in Omaha, Nebraska and grew up in Wichita, Kansas. Neither of which is a bustling metropolis. He then went to Iowa State in Ames, Iowa.

So needless to say, getting drafted by the New York Jets and moving to New York City must have been a jarring experience for the 22-year-old Hall.

In an interview with Jon “Stugotz” Weiner, Billy Gil and myself on “God Bless Football”, Hall shared his experience with New York City and how it isn’t his type of scene.

It was it was cool just being in the city and stuff like that but, I'm not a loner, but I enjoy my own company. So, like being around a whole bunch of people and stuff isn't like really my thing. I'm low key laid back and so like going to Times Square and all that stuff like it's cool for a first-time experience but like, it ain't nothing I really want to do again. I got some pictures, you know, have fun and everything but as much as I enjoy being around a whole bunch of people, I enjoy my own company too.  -Jets running back Breece Hall on “God Bless Football”

Hall went on to say that there is something he has yet to experience in his two years in New York that he is looking forward to this year. The tree at Rockefeller Center.

“I was just talking to some of the some of our staff down I want to go see the big Christmas tree. Right? I haven't got to go see that. But people say that's hectic too,” Hall said. “So, I'm trying to get out there pretty early and you know, take some pictures and a walk around and maybe go to go to a nice restaurant and eat with some teammates or some friends or something. That'll be cool too.”

Hall might not love New York City, but New York certainly loves Breece Hall. His play last season and his breakout last week against the Denver Broncos, where he rushed for 177 yards including a 72-yard touchdown run, have solidified Hall as the engine that could make this Jets offense run.

He has also drawn the eyes of opposing defenses. One day after head coach Robert Saleh said that the way to stop the Philadelphia Eagles’ infamous “tush push” play is to make sure quarterback Jalen Hurts receives “11 kisses,” or hits from every Jets defender, Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox said the same tactic will apply against Breece.

“We gotta go kiss him 11 times,” Cox said Wednesday at Eagles practice. “Put 11 helmets on him.”

While Hall might not be a big fan of New York City, he will have the city at his back when the Jets take on the Eagles in week six. And hey, all the time spent out of the big city and in the Jets facility can't be a bad thing, at all, either.
