Is Mike Conley playing in Game 7 vs. Nuggets? Latest injury update for Timberwolves star

Given that Conley played during Game 6 of the series, which Minnesota won in blowout fashion, it’s probably safe to assume that the veteran point guard and former All-Star will try to give it a go on Sunday night as well.

Conley previously missed Game 5 of this series with the same injury, and his absence was felt to a great degree by the Timberwolves. During that contest, the Nuggets consistently double-teamed superstar shooting guard Anthony Edwards, and without the stabilizing presence that Conley brings to the offense, the Timberwolves were unable to generate many high quality shot attempts en route to a blowout loss in that game.

The next game, Conley was back in the lineup and looked a lot like his regular self, knocking down a barrage of mid range jumpers and making the Nuggets pay every time they attempted to double team Edwards.

The back and forth of this nature of this series has truly been something to behold for NBA fans everywhere. The Timberwolves landed the first two punches of this series, immediately stealing home court advantage from the Nuggets in Game 1 and then doubling down by routing Denver in Game 2, putting the defending champions immediately on the ropes.

However, the Nuggets would show their championship pedigree by winning the next three games, all in relatively easy fashion, which set the stage for last week’s Game 6 back in Minnesota. The Timberwolves showed great resiliency in not only staving off elimination, but doing so in blowout fashion.

So, is Mike Conley playing in Game 7? The answer is, more likely than not.
